GETTING TO NANTUCKET

By Ferry

The most common and most reliable way to get on island is to take one of the ferries that leaves from Hyannis, New Bedford, or New York City. We recommend booking roundtrip ferry tickets in early 2026 as they can sell out

High-speed passenger ferry service from Hyannis is provided by Hy-Line Cruises and the Steamship Authority multiple times daily. Both ferries take approximately one hour. If you are driving to the ferry, we recommend parking at one of their paid lots or at the Hyannis Transportation Center. If you are driving and prefer to avoid Cape traffic, the Cape Flyer provides seasonal train service from Boston to the Hyannis Transportation Center.

Seastreak also provides limited passenger ferry service from Highlands, NJ and E 35th St, NYC.

While we do not recommend bringing a car, the Steamship Authority provides car ferry service from Hyannis daily.

By Plane

Flying directly to Nantucket Memorial Airport (ACK) is the fastest option. However, Nantucket is notorious for unpredictable and quick-changing weather patterns (the island is known as the “Grey Lady” for a reason). Flights can often be impacted by fog and wind, so we recommend buffering extra travel time if you are choosing to fly.

Please book your flights as early as possible as prices can skyrocket during the summer months. Most of the airlines will post flights 8-10 months in advance, so check back in December.

Cape Air - provides year-round service to ACK from Boston (BOS), New York City (JFK), Hyannis (HYA), New Bedford (EWB), and Martha’s Vineyard (MVY). Seasonal Service is provided from Westchester County (HPN).

JetBlue - provides seasonal service to ACK from Boston (BOS), Washington-National (DCA), and New York City (JFK, LGA, HPN, & EWR).

Delta - provides seasonal service to ACK from New York City (JFK & LGA).

Tradewind Aviation - provides seasonal service to ACK from White Plains (HPN) and Teterboro (TEB).

United Airlines - provides seasonal service to ACK from Newark (EWR) and Washington-Dulles (IAD).

American Airlines - provides seasonal service to ACK from Washington-National (DCA), Charlotte (CLT), Chicago O'Hare (ORD), and Philadelphia (PHL).
